Valencia

Valencia is great for a weekend break. The aquarium and biopark are great for kids, but it is the work of architectural genius, Santiago Calavatra, that draws some of the best photographers from around the world to visit the city.

Barcelona

Another of my top 5 cities that I have visited so far and this was my 3rd trip. I managed to explore a bit more of the western side of the city this time around including the fantastic magic fountains at Montjuic. I also got up early on a sunday to get into Gaudi's Segrada Familia before the queues arrived!

Prague

I had some terrible weather conditions when visiting Prague, so there is a lot of sepia in this album. I will have to go back at some point to improve on my collection!

Vienna

I only got to spend a day in Vienna, but there is so much to see. Many different opera houses, churches and museums and some great spots for photography.

Venice

I managed to get stuck in Venice on a weekend where it was flooding. It's quite spectacular from a photography perspective, but also intreging to watch the locals get on with the day as if nothing had ever happened!

Florence

One of my favourite cities on the planet. I've been twice now and will definitely revisit again someday. There's always a lot more to explore than you can pack in to a long weekend!

Rome Revisited

There is so much to explore in Rome. During this trip, I focused on visiting some of the cities most famous churches and basilicas.

Iceland

I've wanted to go here for years. It's still really expensive, but it's a landscape photographer's paradise. If you go during June like I did, you get 24 hours of daylight to photograph in! I may go back during winter for Aurora Borealis and snowscenes.

Santorini, Greece

I went to Santorini as a separate trip. I think its a place that everyone should visit at least once. Weather wasn't fantastic, but I managed to get to the famous part of Oia via bus, whilst the sun was out.

Athens, Greece

One of my friends is currently living in Athens, so it made sense to take a long weekend out and visit.... and sightsee of course with some photos of ancient Greece

Hong Kong

The best thing about Hong Kong were the Star Ferries. 30 pence to take a ferry across the harbour to get some of the best views of the city. Although a bit cliched, the tram to the peak gives the best view of the city. The queue was 2 hours going up and 2 1/2 hours going back down again. Exhausting!

Singapore

I only spent a couple of hours in between connecting flights in Singapore. It was very humid and 35 degrees celcius, at 9 o'clock in the evening. I only went to Marina Bay and Raffles to have a look around, but it a really nice walk around the harbour.

New Zealand

The majority of my trip down under was spent in New Zealand. Perhaps the best place in the world for landscape photography? As a result, there are 4 pages worth of images to view from locations all over both North and South islands.

Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia

I took a day tour from Melbourne to go to visit the Great Ocean Road. I would definitely recommend this, though most guided tours do the trip in the wrong order. I would recommend visiting the 12 Apostles early in the day nearer sunrise, as the light is better. Also, It is considerably less busy if you do the opposite to the route that the tour guides do.

Melbourne, Australia

Melbourne is a pretty cool modern day city. I think this was my favourite Australian city during my visit. I definitely spent more time using my camera here than in Brisbane and Sydney.

Sydney, Australia

I spent a couple of days in Sydney to have a brief look around and explore. I may go back again some day to capture some sunsets and visit the Blue Mountains and Manly beach.

Brisbane, Australia

Brisbane - The first stop during my visit to Australia. I also had a bried excursion to the Gold Coast, but did not take too many photographs, as I was visiting a friend.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I took a break for a few weeks and went travelling down under. I stopped off in Kuala Lumpur for a few hours to photograph the Petronas Towers. I was very impressed with the shopping mall underneath in KLCC.

Simona - Portraits

I did a fun portrait shoot with Simona. We have a couple of items to try out in a theme and will do another one in the future. Quite pleased with the results. I used a Gary Fong Lightsphere on my 580EX flashgun during this shoot. Its a surprisingly great diffuser. See some of the videos on YouTube if you are interested in finding out more.

Breeze FM - Advertising

Breeze FM is a new radio Station in Bath. They used one of my pictures of the Royal York Crescent in Bath, for their launch advertising in local magasines.

Near Space

Myself and a couple of likeminded friends, launched a weather balloon full of photographic into the stratosphere, so that we could photograph the curvature of the earth. We tracked and retrieved the capsule with the use of a parachute and a couple of GPS devices. The link on this site is to our external blog, focused on this project.

London

I had a few spare hours in London, so I did some cityscape work. The streets and promenade were surprisingly empty, which was nice as it allowed me to do a few shots of a clear Millenium Bridge.

Everything Everywhere - Portraits

This was a photoshoot over a few locations of staff in Everything Everywhere. Time was of the essence and I couldn't control lighting, as the room had motion detecting lights, which couldn't be turned off, so this was a bigger challenge than you would usually encounter. I was quite happy with the results though, considering I had an hour to set up, shoot, pack up and move on for each location.

Cornwall

Its always nice to get away for a few days. Travelodge were doing a deal for 19 pounds per night at Hayle and it would be rude to turn that down for an opportunity to visit Cornwall for some landscape work!

Dorset

This was a good day out with one of my best mates, Chris, who works in a portrait studio. Nice to get out and do some landscape work, as he usually doesn't have the time.

Rome

Myself and my friends went to Rome for a long weekend. It was the first time we had done something like this and an achievement now that two of them are married. It was really good and highly enjoyable and we are planning to do it more often in the future.

Filton Airshow

Some photos from the private airshow at Filton, hosted by Airbus. Was good to see some Concorde and se a rare appearance from the Vulcan Bomber soaring through the sky.

Shell - Advertising

I was contacted about one of the photos of Glencoe from my Scotland trip, for an advertising campaign for Shell. This photo will become one of the main images of Shell's 2012 advertising campaign and it was be in various petrol stations around the world, as well as magazines, billboards and other display media.

Fine and Country

This was a photoshoot for Fine & Country, a new subdivision of Andrews Property and Letting. We were supposed to do a shoot in front of some landmarks in Bath, but at last minute were forced to reconsider due to terrible weather conditions. In the end we borrowed a room from a period hotel, but was not allowed to set up lighting or umbrellas or reflectors, as there were residents in the hotel. This meant that I was restricted to on camera flash using the 580EX.

Andrews Property and Letting - Advertising

I was contacted by Andrews Property and Letting (via 3sixty Media) to use some of my landscape images in the launch of their new website. Andrews bought four of my landscape photographs from Bristol and Bath and also asked my to act as a photography consultant for their "show us where you live" competition, which was open to the public to enter.

ITSS Global - Advertising

I created a panoramic photograph from the top of the cathedral in Geneva and it was picked up on pretty quickly by software development company, ITSS Global, who wanted to use it as a banner for their new website.

Geneva, Switzerland

One of my close friends from University lives in Geneva, so I thought I would pay a visit, have a look around and do some landscape work whilst I was over there.

Songlines World Music Magazine

Songlines World Music Magazine did a piece on Bristol and one of my wore well known images was the main focal point for the article.

Lake District

One the way back from Scotland, I decided to take a brief tour of the Lake District. I got a few photos from Ullswater and Derwent Water, as well as a nice landscape on the way to Windermere, before the weather intervened.

Scotland

As I had driven to Newcastle for the wedding shoot, I decided to go further an spend 4 days in the Scottish Highlands whilst I was at it. Changable weather conditions got me soaking wet, but also allowed for some great scenery. A very pleasing short break!

Newcastle

I had some spare time in Newcastle at the end of the wedding shoot, so I took a stroll into centre of town to do some night photogrpahy.

Julian and Lindsey's Wedding

A selection of photographs from the wedding of Julian and Lindsey, hosted in Newcastle. A truly magical day for all involved!
